Do you perform a thorough roof inspection?
Yes. A “ground-level” look isn’t enough. We perform a comprehensive audit of your entire system, including the roof deck, flashing, chimneys, valleys, and all penetrations. We also inspect the attic to ensure the structural integrity of your home is sound before we begin.
Why do you check my attic ventilation?
Proper ventilation is critical to the lifespan of your roof. We inspect your attic from the inside to ensure the system is “breathing” correctly. Improper airflow can lead to shingle damage, heat buildup, and dangerous mold growth, so we make sure your ventilation meets manufacturer standards.
Will I receive a written estimate for my project?
Every SmartHome project comes with a detailed, written estimate. This includes an accurate description of the work to be performed, the specific Owens Corning products selected, and a clear scope of work so there are no surprises.
How do you handle scheduling and weather delays?
While Kentucky weather can be unpredictable, we provide a clear timeframe for when your project will fit into our schedule. We stay in constant contact regarding start dates and any weather-related adjustments to ensure you are never left in the dark.

What is the Owens Corning® Total Protection Roofing System®?
This is an integrated system of components designed to perform together. It includes three layers of defense: Seal (preventing water damage), Defend (against wind and hail), and Breathe (attic ventilation). We take the time to explain how these parts work as a unit to protect your home.

Can you explain the difference in shingle styles and colors?

What are ice and water barriers, and why do I need them?
In Kentucky, our roofs face wind-driven rain and winter ice damming. We use specialized ice and water barriers to seal the most vulnerable areas of your roof deck. We’ll recommend the best level of protection based on your specific roof’s pitch and location.
What is the difference between a workmanship and manufacturer warranty?
A product warranty covers defects in the shingles themselves, while a workmanship warranty covers the quality of the installation. Because we are Platinum Preferred, we can offer combined “system” warranties that provide the most comprehensive protection in the industry.
How do you protect my property during installation?
We treat your entire property with the same care and respect as if it were our own. We use professional-grade shielding to protect your landscaping, siding, windows, and decks from falling debris. We also coordinate with you before we begin to ensure that vehicles, patio furniture, and other valuables are kept in a safe “no-drop zone” during the process. Once the installation is complete, our crew performs a meticulous site cleanup and a multi-pass sweep of your driveway and lawn to ensure that every nail and bit of debris is accounted for and removed.
What happens if I have an issue after the roof is installed?
